4 Ways to Remove Pet Stains and Odors

Pets can get trained to do their things in proper place or even ask for exiting the house and do the pooping and peeing. But accidents happen, even the best-trained dog sometimes has an accident. And many times it is not even the dog’s fault, we sometimes don’t read or understand what the pet is saying to us. And instead of letting him to go out we ignore the message and then we have a pet stain all over the place mixed with a bad smell that turns the guests away.

Ways to Remove Pet Stains and Odors

But there are some things you can do even when the accidents already happened. You can use several things to clean the pet stains and even few of them to use to remove the bad pet odor.

1. Use Baking Soda and Vinegar

My favorite way of cleaning pet stains and any other stains that I wish to remove. Baking soda when mixed with vinegar produces a reaction that can remove even the worse stains. You can mix vinegar and baking soda in the bottle and add some water; then you can use this mixture and spray the pet stains. But for nasty stains, you need to powder the area with baking soda and then throw on that powder vinegar. Be careful, the reaction will happen, it is nothing dangerous, no need to be scared, but the reaction will remove all the stains. Also, the specific vinegar smell is neutralized as soon as it gets mixed with the baking soda so you should not worry about that at all.

2. Use Hydrogen Peroxide and Baking Soda

This combination works great as well. You can even add some detergent for the better smell in the mixture. You should first remove all the liquid on the stain with a towel or paper. Then the process is almost the same as with the previous method. You apply baking soda on the stain, and then you can mix hydrogen peroxide and detergent. After that, all you need to do is spray that mixture onto the baking soda. Let it rest for 10 to 20 minutes and rub it with paper or towel.

3. Use an Air Purifier

As the name says, an air purifier will clean the air and remove all the pollutants, but some of the air purifiers even have the power to remove pets odor. Now best air purifier for pets would be the one that has air ionizer, that one removes the bad smell from the air really quickly, but unfortunately while ionizing the air, it will produce ozone. The ozone may be harmful to humans and animals in high dosage. Because of that you need to look for the air purifier with the activated carbon filter. There are many models with that filter. Activated carbon filter can remove bad odors very fast and not only that, but the carbon filter can also remove hazardous gases. Overall it is good to have an air purifier in the house because it can clean the other air pollutants and if you are a pet owner, the pet dander will no longer cause the problem to you or your visitors.

4. Use an Air Freshener

There are many brands, and you can buy them in any store. They are incredibly affordable, and I am sure you can find them for as low as few dollars. But the problem with air freshener is that it contains various chemicals, and if you don’t want to pollute your air further then you need to go with a natural air freshener, and those are not so cheap. Another problem is that air freshener will not really remove the bad odor, but it just disguises it. In other words, you will need to push that air freshener for as long as there is a source of the bad smell.

Conclusion

There are cheap solutions and expensive solutions for the pet owners to keep their house clean and fresh. Whatever road you go, you will keep the house clean and in the pleasant sweet smell. Just remember that maybe sometimes is better to give few dollars more and remove that pet odor for better.
